North Delta Minor Hockey Association has one of the best officiating development programs in the province. Our commitment to referee development has earned us recognition by Pacific Coast Ameteur Hockey Association and BC Hockey. Our goal is to provide a fun and rewarding officiating program that allows our association to reach a degree of excellence regarding officials development.

New Officials

Good news! The application process for the 2018 & 2019 season is now open. For those of you who are looking to begin your officiating careers, we will be accepting applications from now until 30 April 2018.

To apply, please email (ndmha_newrefs@outlook.com) with the following information filled out ....

NOTE - You must be second year PeeWee or older for the 2018/19 season to apply. Officials must turn 12 before December 31st, 2018, or they are unable to officiate.

Also, please include a 3-7 sentence summary on why you want to officiate, and what is interesting about it. (Parents ... please make sure your child is the one who writes this piece. We want to hear from them!)

A reminder to please ensure you email (ndmha_newrefs@outlook.com). Using any other email of either the assigner, Referee in Chief, or High Performance Coordinator will result in your application NOT going through. You should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive one within 72 hours, email asking for a confirmation email.

We will be setting up interview times with officials at some point in May or June. You should hear from us a week or two after the application process. Of note - WHEN you email does not have any bearing on whether or not you will be accepted. What matters is the interview and how you do with that.

Returning Officials

Thank you for your hard work during the 2017 & 2018 season.

If you are planning on returning for the 2018 & 2019 season, you will have to attend a BC Hockey clinic in order to be certified. Officials do not certify will be able to officiate games up until December 31st, 2018, but priority will be given to officials who complete their certification.

Development Sessions

Attendance at classroom sessions is mandatory, unless a valid reason is provided for why the official will not be able to attend. Please note that classroom sessions are not BC Hockey clinics, and we are unable to certify officials at these sessions.

Criminal Record Check

Any official who will be eighteen years of older by December 31st, 2018 will have to get a criminal record check done if they wish to officiate for the 2018 & 2019 season.
